Queen Elizabeth national park is one of the Uganda’s oldest protected areas. The Park is home to over 95 mammal species and over 600 bird species. Its the most popular protected area with Diverse Ecosystems.

You are expected to see safari favorites such as elephants, buffalos, and hippos. You will be able to find lions. Leopards’ sightings are frequent though unpredictable around the Mweya and the nearby channel track.

5- DAY TRIP QUEEN ELIZABETH AND GORILLA TRACKING

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to queen Elizabeth.

Depart from Kampala/Entebbe for 6–7-hour drive to Kasese. A stop over will be made at the Equator for photos and a coffee break.

Lunch will be either in fort portal or at the lodge in queen Elizabeth.

You’ll go for an evening game drive in kasenyi to look out for elephants, lions, buffaloes and Uganda Kobs

Over night at Mweya safari lodge /elephant plains lodge or twin lakes safari lodge.

Day 2: Game drive and Kazinga channel boat safari

Early morning game drive in kasenyi or ishasha sector famously known for tree climbing lions.

You will later have breakfast at the lodge and rest.

In the afternoon you will go for a boat cruise along the kazinga channel, spotting hippos, crocodiles and birds.

You will either go for a nature walk or community walk which is optional in the evening.

Over night at the same lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national game park

You will check out go for chimpanzee tracking in kyambura gorge then later have a scenic drive from queen Elizabeth to Bwindi impenetrable for approximately 4-5 hours via Ishasha for tree climbing lions.

You will check in at the lodge and relax.

In the evening you will go to visit a Batwa pygmy village or a community walk.

Overnight at mahogany springs/buhoma lodge/ichumbi gorilla lodge.

Day 4; Gorilla trekking in Bwindi

Early morning breakfast and you will be transferred for briefing at the Bwindi Park headquarters.

Gorilla tracking experience will commence and this will take between 1-6 hours depending on the gorilla location.

You will have one hour with the gorillas on meeting them for unforgettable wildlife experience

You will return to the lodge and rest later take a nature walk to the waterfalls

Over night at the same hotel.

Day 5: Return to Entebbe/Kampala

You will have you breakfast and depart Bwindi for Entebbe/Kampala. This drive will approximately take 8-9hours

You will either go through the Igongo cultural centre or at the equator for souvenirs
