6 DAYS MT. ELGON AND SIPI ADVENTURE
Itinerary:
DAY 1: Transfer from Kampala to Sipi
Early morning departure from Kampala/Entebbe and Drive east via Jinja with scenic countryside views. A stop over in jinja will be made and you will be ale to go see the source of the Nile and have lunch. Continue towards Kapchorwa on the foothills of Mount Elgon National Park
Overnight stay
DAY 2: Sipi Falls Exploration & Coffee Experience
After Morning Breakfast, you will then be transferred to Visit the iconic Sipi Falls
You will have a guided hike to the 3 waterfalls, Arabica coffee tour with local farmers, Learn traditional coffee processing from bean to cup and go Abseiling down the main falls (optional)
Enjoy sunset views over the Karamoja plains
Overnight stay
DAY 3: Start Mt. Elgon Trek – Kapkwai to Tutum Cave Camp
After Breakfast, you will be transferred to Kapkwai Forest Exploration Centre to begin the trek of Mount Elgon National Park
Here you will hike through the thick Bamboo Forest, Montane vegetation, Bird-rich trails and this will take you about 4–5 hrs
Overnight: Tutum Cave Camp
DAY 4: Trek to Wagagai Peak (4,321m)
Early morning summit trek to Wagagai Peak
You will wake up as early as 5-6am to start the trail to wagagai. You will move through Moorland vegetation and have Panoramic views of Uganda & Kenya with Africa’s largest volcanic caldera.
You will be given time to relax, take pictures and have a snack at the peak then prepare Descend back to campOvernight: Tutum Cave Camp
DAY 5: Descend & Return to Kampala
Early morning descend to Kapkwai where you will meet your driver guide and then embark on a journey back to Kampala/Entebbe.
Arrival in the evening.
Overnight Stay
DAY 6: Transfer to the Airport
After breakfast, you will check out of the hotel, go for shopping or/and be transferred to the airport
