Itinerary
DAY 1: ARRIVAL AT THE AIRPORT TO ARUSHA
Arrival day at the Airport depending on your flight time. Here you will be meet and assisted with our professional driver guide, then he will brief you about the details of your 8 days safari.
You’ll drive heading to Arusha which is approximately 1hours driving to your lodge where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night.
DAY 2: ARUSHA TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Your safari guide will collect you from your lodge in Arusha and drive you to Tarangire National Park (approximately 2 hours). Tarangire is best known for its elephant families, savannah, iconic baobab trees, seasonal swamps and the life-giving Tarangire River. Animals gather at the river and giraffes; bushbuck and hartebeest are often seen. The Park is also home to buffalo, zebra and wildebeest. These animals are closely followed by a range of predators such as lions and leopards. From the open roof of the vehicle, you will be able to absorb the landscape and watch the wildlife.
After a full day in the park, we will drive to the Lodge where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night.
DAY 3: FULL GAME DRIVE TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
On this day an early breakfast before checking out and after that you will be driven to Tarangire national park. You will be engaging in morning game drives, many wildlife species such as elephants, buffalos, antelopes, zebras and many others can be spotted as graze around Tarangire national park since they are active during morning. You will have picnic lunch inside park and continue with game drive around park. You will return to the lodge for hot lunch and relaxing.
You will also engage in an afternoon game drive after lunch as enjoy seeing more animals and birds, and beautiful landscape. Your guide will drive you back to your lodge at the end of your wildlife viewing for dinner and overnight stay as above.
DAY 4: KARATU TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, we set off for the famous Serengeti National Park, home of the Great Migration. The views are spectacular as you drive up the crater highlands, stopping at the rim for a birds-eye view of the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. Continuing on, spread out before you, are the vast Serengeti. Serengeti mean Siringet ‘endless plains’ in maasai language and this 6,900 sq. mile (14,763sq. km) park is inhabited by more than 2 million large animals including more than a million wildebeest. Large predators including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are drawn to the area by this abundance of prey which migrate through the park. Many smaller animals like rock hyrax, bat eared foxes, mongoose, honey badger, jackals, monkeys, baboons and African hares also inhabit the area along with nearly 500 species of birds. You will stop at Naabi gate enjoy your lunch at Naabi Hill Picnic Site and take in the breathtaking views and wildlife of the Serengeti!
After your extensive game drive, you will arrive at your lodge and enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.
DAY 5: FULL GAME DRIVE SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
This entire day is set aside for game drives upon the Serengeti. The Serengeti, the habitat of an abundance of wildlife such as impala, buffalo, crocodile, and hippo, is more well-known for its great migrating herds of zebra, antelope, and wildebeest. The animals’ trek is determined by the rainfall and varies from year to year. In November and December, the animals move from the northern region, dominated by woodlands and hills, to the grassy plains of the south. During the longer rainy season from April to June they return to the north. Apart from the migrating herds, we may have the opportunity to see the resident predators, leopard, cheetah, and lion, fulfilling their role in the circle of life.
At midday, you’ll drive to the lodge for hot lunch this is a great time to relax and take in the breathtaking scenery of the Serengeti national park. After lunch you’ll continue with your game drives until late afternoon. After an unforgettable day, we will return to our carefully selected partner lodge for relaxation, dinner and our overnight sleep on The Endless Plain.
DAY 6: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK TO NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA
After breakfast you will head out for an en route game drive. You might be able to spot the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, and leopard – before embarking on your journey to Ngorongoro Crater. The animals roam freely through the unfenced reserves offering you an uninterrupted game viewing experience. Arriving at the edge of the crater you will have your first glimpse of what awaits you the following day – glistening streams, open grassland and an infinite number of animals. You will spend the night at a lodge near to the Crater Rim.
DAY 7: DESCENDING NGORONGORO CRATER
Today you will wake up very early to do an early morning safari before breakfast, to spot the animals when they are more active and also to have a fantastic sun rise in front of you. The sunrise in the African Savannah is one of the most beautiful experiences one can have. You will then travel to Ngorongoro Crater, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhino. In fact, the crater has the greatest
concentration of wildlife in the planet. It contains a river, several swamps, a soda lake that, from the top, looks like steam, full of flamingos, a forest and open plains. The large bull elephants that reside here have extremely large tusks, due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses. After a full day, you will return to a lodge in Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.
DAY 8: AIRPORT TRANSFER
After breakfast at the lodge, you can spend the last hours of your journey to relax depending on your flight schedule, and if you have a time before departure there are some activities to engage as shown below. You will be transferred to the airport for the flight back to home.
