RHINO TRACKING AND MURCHISON FALLS
Itinerary:
DAY 1: Travel to Murchison falls national park
Wake up to a hefty breakfast depending on the arrangements, meet up with our guide/driver who will give you a briefing about the trip and then embark on the journey to an unforgettable experience.
Murchison falls is the biggest/largest National Park in Uganda and it receives the biggest tourist numbers in the country. This is because of its unique feature of the Natural falls called the Murchison falls/Kabalega falls
You will drive through several towns and view different climate patterns, cultures etc.. you will have stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary where they breed the endangered white rhinoceros. The sanctuary exists to preserve the white rhinos in the country. You will have a chance to track rhinos and spend more time with them, learn about their habits, reproduction etc.
You will proceed through Masindi where you will be entertained by a cultural traditional group as you have lunch. Then you will proceed to the park which is 1 hour away from Masindi town. If you arrive at the park on time, you may go for an evening game drive to get acquainted with tomorrow’s game drive. Once you’ve reached your accommodation, relax, freshen up, and await dinner.
DAY 2: Early morning wildlife game drive and Nile boat cruise.
Arise early, prepare for the hunt, thereafter drive out into the wilderness in search for hunting cats and early risers. The game drive kicks off by around 6:30 am. While on this safari, keep alert for the breathtaking wildlife including hyenas, antelopes, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, lions among others. This game viewing moment will give you chance to see the big 4
Additionally, the abundant wildlife opportunity to observe a variety of bird species such as egrets, ibises, marabou stocks and kingfishers. Amongst others. The birder would be more interested in searching for the almost extinct shoe bill stock which is only found in Murchison falls NP at the delta
During the game drives, you can even unwind by having a picnic on the river bank while listening to the distinctive sounds of the hippos. With this game drive, one will return satisfied with the wild
At the end of the morning game drive, head back the lodge for a breakfast/lunch break. This is a time to prepare for the afternoon boat cruise. You have a chance to carry packed lunch, or dine in-house before going for the launch cruise on the Nile. The amazing launch cruise brings you an up-close view of the Nile, as well as more wildlife like crocodiles, buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, Uganda kobs, elephants and much more. The boat cruise also affords numerous opportunities to spot birds such as the kingfishers, weaverbirds, bee-eaters, cattle egrets and enjoy a scenic view on the banks. When at the water falls bottom, you can do as much photography as you need, gazing at the beauty around. At the end of the day, drive back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.
DAY 3: Early morning game drive and Visit to the Top of the Falls.
Rise up to an early breakfast and start another early morning game drive. Drive towards the top of the waterfall. While on the hike to the top of the falls, you’ll witness the mighty river Nile forcefully flowing through a narrow 7-meter ravine(gorge), plummeting down 42 feet and creating deafening roar that create water splashes rising up to 10 meters high.
Optional: You can go back for another game drive or relax at the guest lodge as you enjoy the sounds of the birds clicking around the hotel a remarkable display of mother nature’s power
DAY 4: Check out and return back to Kampala
Having had a beautiful adventure, you will embark on your journey to Kampala with a stopover for lunch and will be dropped off at your preferred location.
